Shilajit’s effects were surveyed via ovulation inducing activity in the female subjects. Over 5 days, ovulation was induced in seven out of nine rats that were treated with shilajit. Only three out of nine rats had induced ovulation in the control. It was then shown that Shilajit has both a spermatogenic and oogenic effect in mature rats.
