Every day, we receive many questions about our product. Therefore, we decided to provide answers to the frequently asked questions about natural Shilajit resin including side effects, right dosage, benefits, returns, shipping and other customer service questions.
Shilajit is a word which means “Nectar of God”. People in some parts of northern India call it “remover of weakness ”. Why is this resin referred to as the nectar of God? Shilajit, a black-brown resin that is rich in vitamins and minerals is gotten from long-dead, decomposed plants. This resin is commonly found in the Altai mountains, and yogis consume this strange looking resin as food during meditation. Usually, Shilajit is more common in the summer (when the temperature is higher) and can flow out of mountains in the Altai.
Like our other products, Shilajit resin is a potent adaptogen and contains high amounts of antioxidants. What makes adaptogen amazing is its ability to give the body’s system a balance – they “read” the body cells and help where the body requires it the most. Antioxidants combat free radicals and protect the body against oxidative stress.
Also, this mineral increases libido, revitalize the reproductive system, increases stamina and vitality, benefits the urinary tract and kidney, improves the effectiveness of other herbs and aids absorption of nutrients.
It is a naturally-occurring substance found in the mountains in Altai. Shilajit is a product of gradual, microbial decomposition of some plants for centuries. It is a powerful and very safe exogenous supplement widely known for its ability to improve physical strength and promote overall health. This natural resin was in use in Ayurvedic medicine as an anti-aging compound and as a rejuvenator.
It is a good source of fulvic acid and humic acid. These two compounds have piqued researchers’ interest because of their therapeutic effects.
We follow the traditional Ayurvedic method of purification –raw Shilajit are washed thoroughly in water and then filtered to get rid of water-insoluble impurities. The filtrate is heated under direct sunlight to concentrate it. The creamy layer formed during heating is skimmed 3-4 times to obtain pure natural Shilajit.
This process is the only one that can bring out the most bioactive components of Shilajit resin. Proper extraction is important, as well, to ensure a consistent high concentration of active ingredients.
Natural Shilajit requires no freezing or refrigeration, and it retains its potency for a very long time. It is already a robust and ancient substance and is the perfect solution for long-term supplementation.
Yes, there are different types: the potency and purity of Shilajit resin depend upon the altitude and location it is collected from, the methods of purification used and especially, the quality of the natural Shilajit.
Only the Gold grade (highest grade) is considered to possess all the legendary properties of Shilajit resin one reads about. The most potent Shilajit is the one obtained from the apexes of the mountains in Altai, around 14000 to 15000 feet above sea level, and that is where our Shilajit resin is sourced from.
The extreme temperature and the pressure exerted by the mountains transform matter and plants into a rich, nutrient-dense mass of minerals that comes out of these rocks. This is known as Shilajit.
The jar contains 150 minimum 100 mg servings. Realistically the jar will last around 1 months as most people will take anywhere from 250-500 mg daily. If you weight under 110lb, 100 mg serving will suffice, if you are over 110 lb, 250-500 will be your dose
Though the right dosage of Shilajit to be taken per day is not yet established, there is a recommended daily amount of metals that is considered safe according to US Department of Health and California Prop 65. In accordance with the stipulated amount, you should take approximately 250 milligrams of Shilajit resin per serving. However, the rules are not enforced by the FDA as many grocery foods do not follow them. In addition, veggies and fruits are exempted from these regulations since they cannot pass them. Regarding how often you should take Shilajit, we recommend taking it once or twice per day for about 4-5 days in a week.
In some cases such as internal problems or bone injury, you may take Shilajit 2 to 3 times daily and 7 days per week. Shilajit resin is traditionally used to accelerate recovery from different health issues and usually only by old people, sherpas, and yogis.
Shilajit stimulates skin cell growth at a molecular (basics) level. It also enhances the ability of the blood to carry iron and oxygen. These amazing benefits of Shilajit resin give people youthful, radiant glow, and healthy appearance. Also, Shilajit helps maintain optimum energy metabolism rate of the body that naturally reduces with age.
To achieve this, you need to shed off excess fat and maintain the level of electrolyte present in the body. Ayurveda practitioners often tout the ability of Shilajit to help balance hormonal levels which change and leads to stress as we grow older.
Most, if not all, health problems are traceable to nutrient or mineral deficiency. Due to intensive chemical farming and crop irrigation, our agricultural lands as well as plants grow on them have been stripped of beneficial microbes and natural minerals.
Shilajit has more than 85 essential minerals required for growth of new cells and energy reactions in the cells. Rich in fulvic acid, the resin helps in the transportation of biomolecules into the body.
A lot of people report increased stamina and energy levels within 10 days. To enjoy maximum benefits, take 1-3 portions of Shilajit resin per day for a period of 6-8 weeks.
Our product, Natural Shilajit, is safe. It contains small amount of phenylalanine (Phe), one the essential amino acids. Like other products containing phenylalanine, it is not suitable for people with the genetic disorder phenylketonuria (PKU). Also, don't mix Shilajit with chlorinated water because fulvic and humic acids (components of Shilajit) react with chlorine to produce a very harmful byproduct.
Stay away from Shilajit powder and products processed with chlorinated water that are available in the marketplace. The standard dietary supplements disclaimer also applies: “If you are pregnant or lactating or under a doctor’s care for any health condition you should consult with your physician before taking this or any other supplement.”
The concentration of vitamin, minerals and other bioactive compounds in various brands of Shilajit varies. This is because they are collected from different geographical location and different plants. Knowing that exact amount of minerals in each brand of Shilajit is an impossible task. Since it is a natural product, the amount of elements or minerals will always differ. Below are some minerals Shilajit resin is expected to have:
Barium, Calcium, Cerium, Cobalt, Copper, Chromium, Dysprosium, Europium, Erbium, Holmium, Iron, Gallium, Gold, Potassium, Lanthanum, Lutetium, Manganese, Magnesium, Sodium, Nickel, Neodymium, Phosphorus, Praseodymium, Platinum, Rubidium, Samarium, Silver, Selenium, Thallium, Thorium, Thulium, Ytterbium, Zinc.

Nowadays, there are laboratories that can standardize and check the various compositions of Shilajit from one batch to the other. Research has shown that the composition of Shilajit resin sourced from different mountain ranges produces some certain similar compounds. The exact amount is determined by the flora in and around the mountain ranges from which the resin is collected. However, fulvic acid, humic acids and other bioactive molecules are commonly found in Shilajit and their actual quantities can be determined. Classically, some certain methods of checking the purity of Shilajit are explained in Ayurvedic literature.
